Wi-Fi QR Code Generator

The mechanism

A Wi-Fi QR encodes text in the form `WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:password;;` (the ZXing convention). Cameras on iOS 11+ and Android 10+ recognize it natively — one scan joins the network with no typing.

Where they shine

• Cafés and shops: post at the counter and stop answering 'what's the Wi-Fi?'
• Guesthouses/Airbnbs: print in the check-in guide
• Office guest networks for visitors

Caveats

• The password sits in the QR in plain text — anyone who can scan it knows it. Post publicly only for guest networks.
• Hidden SSIDs and passwords with special characters can hit escaping issues; test the generated code on a real device.
• This generator runs entirely in your browser; your network credentials are never transmitted.
